About Brookvale
FOR WINTER FUN in the great outdoors, Brookvale is the place to go. The newly named Winter Activity Park and Nordic Centre reflects the fact that Brookvale is now much, much more than a ski hill. These days visitors to the popular Island park have their choice of a complete range of outdoor activities including downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, biathlon, tobogganing, tubing and ice skating.
A half pipe has been constructed to make the hill more challenging for snowboarders and a complete line of boards and boots are available for rent. The new tubing hill has proven to be immensely popular as well. For those who like something a little more relaxing, Brookvale offers skating on the outdoor pond or maybe a sleigh ride down the country roads and trails of this most scenic area of PEI. MacLaren says the park also has top-of-the-line snowshoes for rent.
The alpine site features a 250 foot vertical drop and 10 alpine trails serviced by four lifts-- a quad chair, t-bar, Platter Lift and rope tow. Brookvale also provides a ski school and has ski patrols on site to ensure safety during all winter skiing activities. Professional instruction is available at the alpine area for private, semi- private or group lessons.
