BC Heli Skiing - Description
The Canadian Rockies are distinct from the American Rockies in that they are older mountains. The American Rockies were primarily formed by uplifting, and they are almost exclusively sedimentary rock. The Canadian Rockies have been very heavily glaciated, resulting in sharply pointed mountains separated by wide, U-shaped valleys gouged by glaciers, whereas the American Rockies are more rounded with river-carved V-shaped valleys between them.
The advancements in ski technology have allowed more people to ski deep powder snow. There are operators whose guest is at an advanced ability however many operators that have terrain to meet a variety of ability levels. If you are a black run skier then this holiday can be yours to experience. Many of the new operators whom have entered scene have created a boutique style of heliskiing providing a smaller group atmosphere. This works well for those who want to ski as a group and feel their ability may compromise other guests.
When heli skiing the Rocky Mountains, your accessible ski areas would be Silver Star, Big White, and Sun Peaks.
Your arrival city would be Calgary or Vancouver with ground and/or air transfers to Kelowna, Kamloops or Prince George.
Testimonial “Your expertise and fantastic client service made us very satisfied customers last year and it's the reason we are back using your services again this year. “Last year a Pineapple Express hit lower British Columbia in early March causing our planned operator closed operations for the week. We received the news just 24 hours before our scheduled flight out of Chicago. I remember being crushed by the news as heliskiing had been a lifelong dream.
I’ll never forget how you didn't give up and worked hard to find us a great last minute deal with another operator, who operate well north of where the Pineapple Express made its impact.
I strongly recommend that anyone looking for the best skiing experience of their lives work with this company. Your knowledge of the various operators, regions, snow conditions, costs, etc., is second to none.”
Thanks again for all of your help! Peter Bilecki
