Backcountry Skiing In British Columbia - Description
Enjoy back country skiing in Canada with the Naumulten Lodge and Valkyr Adventures. Our British Columbia backcountry lodge is surrounded on three sides by an alpine amphitheatre. Every window has a view of a world rarely seen. The main floor of the lodge has a spacious, yet cozy feeling. The big timber construction, with cedar paneling and fir flooring throughout, lends a country charm.
The large handcrafted dining table is positioned to take in the view of the alpine wonderland while you feast on the hearty and healthy meals prepared for you daily. The classic, overstuffed furniture provides a comfortable environment at the end of the day. On the lower level is a drying room for wet gear, and a bathroom with a toilet and hot shower.
There are six guest bedrooms on the second floor. Five guest rooms have a double bed / twin bunk combination capable of sleeping one couple or two singles and one room has twin bunks only. All beds are outfitted with comfort in mind.
The Valkyrs are a largely unexplored mountain range. With eight peaks over 8,000 feet, the choices are as vast as the terrain. The Naumulten Lodge, set in the north end of the range, provides access to seven unique zones. Each zone has its own character and challenges.
There are many attainable ridges and peaks giving way to alpine bowls and open treed runs. The variety of aspect, slope and difficulty found here can accommodate any level of ability.
In the immediate vicinity of the lodge are gentle, rolling open treed runs suitable for beginners or for the pros to warm up on. Further afield there is plenty of challenging terrain for more advanced skiers to test their skills. Within a half-hour tour of the lodge, groups can look down from the ridge to excellent runs in north facing bowls.
Only one hour from our BC backcountry lodge are several more serious north-facing bowls with slopes ranging from less than 30° to greater than 45°, with vertical run lengths between 200m (600') and 600m (1,800').

Guided and Catered Backcountry Tours
Everything is taken care of for you. Our ski packages include a helicopter shuttle from our staging area to the lodge and return trip at the end of the week. Our guides are ACMG certified which gives you the assurance that they have extensive training and experience in assessing the snowpack, terrain, and current conditions as well as 1st aid and rescue skills. They are familiar with our terrain and will plan the days’ skiing with the groups’ ability level in mind.
Our professional kitchen staff will ensure you get a cornucopia of great tasting, nutritious meals and snacks designed for athletic output. We can also accommodate those with special diets.
The lodge is designed to be comfortable as well as functional. We are confident that it will meet or exceed your needs and expectations.

Deposit: We require a deposit of 50% in order to confirm your booking. Your reservation can be secured immediately by paying with your Visa, MasterCard or Amex credit card
A letter acknowledging confirmation of reservation will be issued upon receipt of payment.
Full Payment is due no less than 90 days prior to the starting date of the trip.
If full payment is not received 90 days prior to the starting date of the trip Valkyr Adventures reserves the right to forfeit your full deposit and sell your week to another group.
Policies All ski trips need a minimum of 8 people paid up for a trip in order to run it. Summer hiking guided packages require a minimum of 3 people to run.
We encourage you to buy travel insurance to cover unforeseen events! It must be bought simultaneously with your booking reservation. If you have difficulty finding this insurance please e-mail us and we will assist you.
If some unforeseen and unforgiving event occurs and you must cancel your reservation - we can assist you with these options:
You may sell your reservation to someone else.
3 months prior to arrival, you may move your reservation to another week in the same year or the next, based on availability.
Cancellation If a cancellation is received in writing prior to 90 days before the start date of your reserved package, a full refund less 30% will be issued. If a cancellation is received less than 90 days prior to the starting date of your package no refund will be issued. Refunds will also not be issued for leaving early, arriving late or days lost due to any unforeseen events.
